Project Details:
The project includes the engineering, procurement and construction of a 77,000m3 full containment Ethane tank together with associated balance of plant, jetty topsides and a cross country pipeline.
Whessoe’s Scope:
Pre-FEED, Detailed Engineering, Project Management
Whessoe carried out a pre-FEED study for SABIC which included a Pre-FEED Report.
This report identified that if SABIC wanted to maintain their tight schedule the next engineering phase would need to be undertaken immediately. Hence, Whessoe commenced early engineering and design services which ultimately led to Whessoe being awarded the detailed design and project management contract.
From Pre-FEED commencement to detail design being initiated was a period of six months, work commenced on site within 9 months.
Whessoe formed a Consortium with its Parent Company, Samsung C&T Corporation, and together will provide full EPCC services to SABIC with Samsung being responsible for the Project Management, Procurement and Construction aspects of the project.
